The essays for the Winter Writing Contest sponsored by the Montgomery Public Library are displayed in the hall. If you have time, please come by in the next two weeks and enjoy reading a variety of stories. The children did a great job!

Memory (Luke 2: 1-20) due by Fri., Dec. 10
(Students have had the option to split the memory in half. Many students have already said verses 1-10. All 20 verses are due by Friday.)
From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler
Students have finished testing on the novel and will see the movie based on the book on Friday. We will compare and contrast the book and the movie. Students may bring popped pop corn and a water on Friday for the movie. Students have a collection of material on the novel, and we will bind this together into booklets for their portfolios. We have all thoroughly enjoyed the story of Claudia, Jamie, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the mixed-up files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. What a creative and entertaining story!
Creative Writing
Students are working on their mystery from Mrs. Frankweiler's mixed-up files. Claudia and Jamie saved enough money to go back for a visit with Mrs. Frankweiler. They discovered another mystery that must be solved. These delightful, creative stories will be displayed in January. You will be notified when they are up and ready to be shared.
Bible (Lesson 14)
The time came for the prophet, Elijah, to leave his earthly home. Elisha, who had been Elijah's helper, took his place. Elisha is a holy man of God, and the Lord performed many miracles through this servant. We will be reading 2 Kings 2 and 4: 1-37; Bible Guide pages 54-57 (except Ch. 3) Lesson 14 grade on Tues., Dec. 14
AR Testing
The last day to AR test for this nine weeks is Tues., Dec. 14. Students should have tested on at least two novels. In addition to these novels, they also should have tested on From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.
