We will complete Ch. 9-19. Students have been assigned 15 vocabulary words, kept in their reading folder, to learn along with these chapters. Even though I read all of these chapters aloud in class, I have encouraged the students to also reread them at home after we have read and discussed them in class.

Wordly Wise
We will do Lesson 12 (Parts, A-E) and also review these words in class on Thursday.

Bible
We will cover Lessons 25 and 26 in class this week. There will not be a grade on these lessons.
Hezekiah and Isaiah (Lesson 25)
2 Chronicles 29-32
Hezekiah, the son of Ahaz, became the next king of Judah and was one of the best kings Judah had. The first four years of Hezekiah's 29 year reign were peaceful years. He cleansed the Temple and restored the worship of the Lord. He walked in the Lord's ways, and the Lord blessed him. Peaceful times ended when Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, came to capture Jerusalem. God saved Jerusalem by a miracle. Isaiah was a true counselor to Hezekiah, sometimes acting as a mediator between the king and God. Isaiah describes the person and the offices of the Messiah so fully that he is known as the evangelical prophet.
The Decline and Fall of Judah
2 Chronicles 33-36
Manasseh ruled Judah after his father, Hezekiah, for 55 years. What a contrast there was between these two kings! We read that Manasseh and Judah "did more evil than the nations the Lord had destroyed before the Israelites." Manasseh was followed by his wicked son Amon who only reigned two years. After Amon, the last faithful king of Judah, Josiah, ruled Judah for 31 years. He was only 8 years old when he became king. When Josiah was 16 years old, he
departed from the wicked ways of his father and lived according to God's law. While Josiah was repairing the Temple, Hilkiah, the priest, discovered the book of the Law of Moses. When Josiah and the people heard the law, they were distressed by their sins and made a solemn promise to serve God.

AR
Testing for midterm must be done by Friday, April 8.

Persuasive Writing
The "Adopt A Pet" persuasive writing project will be on display in the hall by Friday, April 1. Please take a moment in the first couple of weeks of April to come by and take a look.
These factual but heartfelt pieces of writing and cute pictures of the animals will warm your heart and also give you a laugh or two! The children have done a wonderful job!

Note the following:
1. Class Pictures are Thursday, March 31.

2. ITBS Testing is April 4-8.
Please make sure that your child gets a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast to get him/her through each morning of testing. Students should have regular #2 pencils (3 sharpened pencils to start each day of testing). We will not be using mechanical pencils as they can be a problem with lead breaking and running out during testing. Also, please make sure that your child arrives at school by
7: 50 if possible. Testing begins promptly!

3. Just a reminder that the trip to American Village is on Friday,
April 29!

Have a great week! God's blessings on you and your family!
